Butterfly-Transformation
We have all gone through many struggles, hardships and joys with one another. This is a story many have seen before but I think it needs to be written once more as a reminder. It is the butterfly saga.
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly.
_
He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.
_
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were GOD’S way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If GOD allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.
WE WOULD NEVER FLY!
“And be not configuring yourselves unto this age, But be transforming yourselves by the renewing of your mind, To the end ye may be proving what is the thing willed by GOD- the good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2, Rotherham, the Emphasized Bible)
As you go through life, keep in mind that struggling is an important part of any growth experience. In fact, it is the struggle that causes you to develop your ability to fly.
A lot of the struggles experienced by those leaving the Jehovah witnesses, Scientology and other high control groups has been loss of family associations. I have in my case noticed it only lasted for about 5 years. Slowly it has released others in the family to take a hard look at the situation and realize a person must be free to choose a personal relationship with God and not because their parents chose a religion.

There are many facebook pages with support groups for those that don’t have friends. This website and others provide spiritual food for some of the pages. There are support forums that allow you to shout out verbally your hurt and experiences, as this is a major part of healing; to have a listening ear. To be able to speak without judgement or punishment from a group of misguided men. Such forums allows you to flex your wings as you emerge from the constrictions of the cocoon. This same constriction however made you a beautiful sight to behold!
Those emerging have been blessed by GOD and can choose to help others and continue to heal themselves and their family.
The main thing I have found is to wait, be patient, Don’t push. Most people would rather SEE a sermon than hear one.
“But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy as LORD. Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you. but do it courteously and respectfully“. 1Peter 3:15 (Amplified Bible)
How has your life and circumstances changed since getting free. Perhaps you can add something that will help someone else just coming out. We would love to hear from you now, especially if you were here years ago.
